About

Beginning in 1973 the founder of Town and Country Builders Richard Jurewicz moved from Hamtramck Michigan up north to Wolverine. After building his own home and becoming established in Cheboygan County, he incorporated the business as Town and Country Builders Incorporated in 1977.

Also in 1977 Richard had his second and last child Michael. At a very young age Michael was always trying to climb up ladders and be on the roof with the guys. So, starting around age 11 he was coming to the jobs picking up shingle scraps or sweeping the jobsite. In 1992 Michael was 14 and a full-time employee for the family business every summer break.

In 1996 Michael graduated high school and continued working for the family business. For the next ten years he worked for Town and Country along with other companies in Cheboygan County. In 2006 Michael traveled to Prescott Arizona to work with other Michigan carpenters already living there. Learning about seismic codes, positive water flow and building directly into rock. Arizona was an excellent learning experience.

After moving back to Michigan and building several more homes and completing multiple garages, pole barns and smaller projects, with Town and Country Builders Michael achieved his builders’ licenses in 2008. For the next six years Michael continued to work in northern Michigan. In 2014 an opportunity to move to Colorado presented itself. Michael moved to Conifer Colorado and began working for a company in Denver. That company specializes in spec homes in the city of Denver. Colorado taught different lessons than Arizona. Learning different methods from different states has expanded the knowledge of Town and Country Builders.

Continuing Richards original company name and trying to help build northern Michigan as sustainable and responsible as possible, youngest son Michael is continuing Town and Country Builders for decades to come.
